Legacy LA’s Live Your Legacy Gang Intervention Program understands that high-risk youth and young adults living in this zone face insurmountable obstacles. The high school dropout rate is over 50%, there is easy access to alcohol due to the high concentrations of liquor stores in the zone, drug abuse, lack of youth development programs, and lack of access to jobs and/or programs that provide a direct pathway to jobs. Legacy LA’s gang intervention program believes in working with the individual, helping them to rebuild their life by setting attainable goals, nurturing their self-esteem and confidence, building self-efficacy skills, and most importantly creating hope for the future. Legacy LA believes that once gang-involved and high-risk youth and young adults have hope for their future they will have less reliance on their gang ties and or violent activity.
