About Us Legacy LA operates in an old 50,000 sq ft armory in the East LA community of Ramona Gardens. Legacy keeps kids safe from gangs and violence. Our programs empower youth to DREAM BIG and be leaders in their lives, their homes & their community. Legacy operates in a 50,000 square-foot Hazard Park Federal Armory site in north Boyle Heights walking distance from the Ramona Gardens Public Housing Development. We are a collaborative community organization partnering with the local community and the City of Los Angeles with a critical goal of transforming our weathered, 1950s Armory building, and five acres of urban parkland into a state-of-the-art facility offering multifaceted educational, cultural, and recreational services and programs.
